Terms & Conditions

By placing an order with Freud Ltd ("FREUD", “we” or “us”) you are deemed to confirm that you have read, understood and agreed these FREUD terms and conditions of business and that your order is governed by them.

If you are unhappy or unsure about any aspect of the FREUD terms and conditions of business, please, before placing an order, contact info@freud.eu or call and speak with us on +44 (0)20 7240 1100.

FREUD is an English company resident in England.  Any offer made to you by FREUD is made in England and from England.  If you accept an offer made by FREUD, the place where your contract with FREUD is made is England, even if that is not the country where you accepted the offer or where the subject of the offer is deliverable to you.  The FREUD terms and conditions of business and your use of the FREUD website are governed by the laws of England.  You and FREUD agree, without prejudice to any non-excludable statutory right or obligation, which either FREUD or you may have, to submit in your dealings with each other to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

FREUD welcomes enquiries from everywhere about the purchase of its products.  However FREUD gives no warranty, express or implied, that the use of this website, or the placing of any order through it, complies with any non-UK law or regulation. If a product or promotion offered by FREUD is not permitted under any law or regulation to which you are subject it must not be accepted by you.  If you are resident in a jurisdiction other than the UK you are deemed to warrant to FREUD that any product or promotion which you accept from FREUD is permitted to you under every law and regulation in the jurisdiction in which you are resident.

A contract for the sale of any item FREUD offers and for the provision of any associated service will exist only once an order for that item has been accepted by FREUD and the item is ready for dispatch.  Payment, if not already received by FREUD, is due at the point of dispatch.

You may cancel an order for any reason up to the point of dispatch.

Under the European Distant Selling Regulations, if you are within the EU, you have the right (subject to certain conditions) to cancel a contract for purchase with FREUD within seven working days of the day after the day on which you receive the item purchased under the contract (respectively the ‘seven day cooling off period’ and the 'item').

To cancel your contract within the seven day cooling off period:

you must, by email or by post, before the expiry of the seven day cooling off period, notify FREUD of your decision in writing (which notification must include details of the FREUD Order Number of the item you are cancelling); and

you must further, at your own expense, within the 21 days following the date the item was delivered to you, safely return (i) the item and (ii) its original packaging to FREUD (at the return address which FREUD shall specify promptly following receipt of your notice of cancellation) and, when returned by you to FREUD, (i) the item must be unused and in perfect condition and (ii) its original packaging must be complete and undamaged and in every way fit for re-use; and

the returned item and its original packaging  must be accompanied by a copy either of the order confirmation which was packed with the item when it was received by you or with a copy of the notification which you sent to FREUD in order to cancel the contract.

FREUD will, within 28 days of the cancellation date of a cancelled contract or, if later, within 7 days of the date of return of all items and original packaging delivered under that cancelled contract, refund any payment it has received from you which relates to that cancelled contract, less any costs it incurs in the return to it of the items and original packaging.

If you are not in the EU or if you are no longer within the seven day cooling off period, you may return an item to FREUD, subject to prior agreement with FREUD on a case by case basis: please contact info@freud.eu or call and speak with us on +44 (0)20 7240 1100.

Please note that you are responsible for the costs of returning items to FREUD unless FREUD delivered the item to you in error or, when delivered to you, it was damaged or defective.

If an item is delivered to you in a damaged state

    (i) you must notify FREUD immediately by e-mail to info@freud.eu; and

(ii) you must retain the item together with all packaging for inspection by FREUD or its carrier or their insurers in order to meet the requirements of those insurers; and,

(iii)if possible, please photograph or video and send to info@freud.eu pictures of
    a. any damaged packaging;
    b. the damaged item in its packaging as you found it; and
    c. the damage to the item.

If FREUD or its carrier is satisfied that the damage was caused before the item came into your care, it will be replaced. If the packaging and the damaged item are not retained, the item will not be replaced.

Arrangements for the collection, return or disposal of the damaged item must be agreed with FREUD and will be confirmed by e-mail by info@freud.eu.

If an item was delivered to you with a defect or in error, please send an e-mail to info@freud.eu or call and speak with us on +44 (0)20 7240 1100.

    FREUD glassware is mouth blown.
FREUD bone china is hand cast.
FREUD offers natural wood handles for its stainless steel range.
Natural materials and handmade processes produce unique pieces. A degree of variation should be expected. Small signs of the process through which a piece was formed are not defects but marks of the human craftsmanship that went into its making.

Even stainless steel will tarnish and change with time and use. The aging process can be beautiful. But all objects require sensible care. Dishwashers, for example, may be too harsh for some items. They can spoil the surface of glassware or the decoration of fine porcelain. They are unsuitable for wood. They can damage the mechanisms of spice mills. And so on. When in doubt, it is wise to desist. If you have questions, FREUD staff will endeavour to help.

No person who is not a party to these terms and conditions shall have any right to enforce any term under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. Nothing in these conditions is intended to affect nor shall affect any statutory right that may not be excluded.
